This time of year, many of us head for the outdoors. We work outdoors, play or have hobbies outdoors, and dine outdoors. We can also be bitten by bugs while we are outdoors.

So don’t play host to a bunch of mosquitoes. If you want to get rid of mosquitoes, target their watery homes of preference. Places like stagnant, standing pools of water. Empty and change the water in outdoor pet bowls, birdbaths, fountains, and wading pools at least weekly. Don’t let water collect in buckets, flower pots, or any other containers. If you have a swimming pool, keep the water treated and circulating. Clean clogged rain gutters. Look for and eliminate any hidden areas where water might collect, such as in old tires or tree holes or on plastic tarps.
