Exercise for Seniors
Staying active can be like a fountain of you for seniors. The secret to Feeling better and living longer has been discovered by millions. Find an exercise program and stick with it. With regular exercise about three times a week, one can reduce arthritis pain and delay diabetes and heart trouble. Arthritis pain, anxiety and depression can also be reduced. Older people stay independent with regular exercise.
Four main types of exercise for seniors include:
* Walking, swimming, or riding a bike which helps to build staying power and improves the health of the heart and circulatory system.
* Strengthening exercises which build muscle tissue and reduce age-related muscle loss.
* Stretching exercises for flexiblity.
* Balance exercises to reduce the risk of a fall.
